Savings Pick: Organic Coupons

One of the greatest things are samples and the next greatest thing is coupons. I wanted to share this website because I have had the hardest time finding organic coupons. A full cup is a great website to find organic and other grocery coupons.  You can go to http://www.afullcup.com/coupons and put in the type of coupons you would like and a list pops up; from there you will double click on the item and then the printable image will appear. Also on the site there's a blog, as well with coupon codes to various deals. 

There is a forum that has advice from savvy couponers and casual couponers. I myself am a casual couponer, I would like to be a savvy couponer, I just can't find enough coupons to meet our organic needs. You have the option to register with the site allowing to connect with other coupon savvys. Lets start saving!

I attended Art Night Pasadena about two years ago with my husband and we really enjoyed ourselves. There are free shuttles that will take you from gallery to gallery. The central pick-up location for the shuttles are at Pasadena City Hall. 

There will be 11 participating galleries this Art Night Pasadena. If you get hungry, there will be food trucks everywhere. The food trucks give back 10% of their proceeds to the future Art Night Pasadena. There will be drumming performances by Makoto Taiko at 6:15, 7:15, 8:15 and 9:15 p.m. Enjoy a night of learning and fun without breaking the bank.

I have went to Crossroads Trading to sell my used clothes at the Pasadena, CA location. The process was to sign in at the counter and then take a seat. A buyer will call you and look through each piece that you have brought in. They take clothing, shoes and accessories. You can get cash on the spot or a check. The other option is to trade for store credit. I chose to get cash. 

Crossroads Trading buys clothing all day and no appointment is needed. All you need is to be 18 years old and a valid photo ID. When bringing in your items just make sure they are in season and in wearable condition. If your still unsure what to bring in, there is a buying guide on their website. If your clothes don't get purchased, please don't throw them away. You can donate them at your local thrift store and keep them out of landfills. Your once loved piece of clothing could be someone else's new found love.         

Baby Pick: Baby Bargains Book

The Baby Bargain book has a lot of useful money saving information for babies. The book has reviews on baby furniture, equipment and much more. There are photos of the products and are graded with a letter grade. There is also great information on how long to use an item and a lot of safety tips. Below I have listed some money saving notes that I found in this book.   

A great find for cheap baby furniture is Ikea. (It might not last though more than two kids)

For diapers you can go to Costco. (Box of 216 for about $31.00).

Instead of paying a lot for baby intercoms you can find phones with a room monitoring options.

You can find great deals and sometimes free baby items on Craigslist and don't forget the newspaper too.

When shopping for resale baby equipment, keep up to date on recalls.

Bargain shop at thrift stores and consignments.

With resale clothes, watch out for loose buttons that could be a chocking hazard or strings that cut off circulation. 

If your going the yard sale route, bring batteries to make sure the items work. 

Check with your health insurance to see if they will pay for a breast pump.

Check to see if your health insurance, auto insurance or employer will pay for a car seat with a completion of a parenting class.

The Greatest Thing in the World - The Salvage Grocery Stores, also known as bent and dent stores! Specialize in selling products at up to 80% off. 

When I was.... really young in 1994. I had a salvage store within five minutes of my house. What I remember were green beans, corn and other canned vegetable for only 19 cents per can. There were these huge freezers. I don't know if there was any other food in the freezers, but as a kid, I knew there was lots of ice cream. My favorite thing to get were a whole box of orange and vanilla ice cream bars for a dollar. It really scarred me for life, when I had to buy an ice cream from truck. When I could buy a whole box for a dollar. 

These items are sometimes sent back by stores because they have dents or scratches. Sometimes items just don't sell well in a given area. A lot of times stores have excess inventory and sell it to discount stores. Another reason why an item can end up at these stores is that the item is getting close to its expiration date. 

Sometimes you can find Organic and healthy choice options, even non-perishable and discontinued items are available. What to watch out for at these stores are sell-by dates and always use your better judgement.  If you are buying from the freezer watch out for frost bitten items. 

You can find gold in these stores and sometimes it is a miss, but it can be a fun treasure hunt. These stores don't get a constant supply of the same item, so there is always something new.

There is not an "official" definition of a Clean Eater. What it means to me is to eat organic, no corn syrup, no pesticides or hormones.

This was my most recent purchase for my house. I love this product. I purchased it for $3.99 in an As Seen On TV store in the mall. What I have noticed is that different places charge different prices for this item, so it all depends on where you go. It has to be the one of the best $3.99 purchases I have made. There is a Twirl A Belt too. I didn't see it in the store that I went to,  but I would buy one of those as well. It really does spin all the way around to. Another good use I found for it, is to use it as a divider if you have to share the closet with your husband. Your clothes on one side of the Twirl A Tie and his on the other. I have had some bad experiences with As Seen TV products, but they have redeemed themselves with the Twirl A Tie.
